Accessibility
Museum TN is designed to be usable with keyboard navigation, visible focus, scalable text, light/dark themes, high contrast and reduced motion. Preferences are stored only on the user’s device.
Target
We aim for WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This is an ongoing target rather than a claim of formal certification.
Current support
- Skip link to main content
- Keyboard-accessible navigation and mobile drawer with focus containment
- Visible keyboard focus
- Text scaling
- High-contrast and light/dark display modes
- Reduced-motion mode and respect for the operating system’s reduced-motion preference
- Alternative text for exhibit images
- Labels for interactive form controls
Known limitations
Third-party historical images and external source pages are outside the museum’s control. Some interactive exhibits may require further testing with different screen readers and browser/assistive-technology combinations.
Reporting an issue
Until a dedicated museum email address is established, accessibility issues can be reported through the curator’s LinkedIn contact listed on the About page. Please include the page address and a short description of the problem.
